Ricard Jorge is a Spanish illustrator based in Barcelona. His geometric, bold and minimal illustration style follows the deco’s legacy and the international style in graphic design.
Ricard’s work is characterized by taking all his artwork to the minimum expression getting rid of the needless and letting the basic shapes, lights and the essence of things to bloom. Using just the elements needed, the spectator could understand perfectly every single element of his compositions. And could give a very realistic or schematic look depending on the purpose of the commission.
He can describe himself as a creative illustration being able to add conceptual tweaks to his illustrations to dare the observer. Adding another layer to his illustrations.
His artworks solve communication needs in several fields like advertising, editorial, branding illustration, website communication and infography.
Ricard graduated in Elisava school of design. Along in 2007. Has been working as designer and lead illustrator at Heystudio. Before jumping to the illustration world solo becoming a freelance illustrator in 2017. Along 10 years of experience in illustration and graphic design, he have worked for international clients as Coca-cola, Apple, Seat, Pepe Jeans london, The wall street journal, The Guardian, Paypal, Monocle, ESPN and collaborations with ad agencies as BBDO, Saatchi, BETC or DDB.
Beside the commercial profile, Ricard enjoys part of his time teaching illustration and AI tools at IDEP and VISIONS.
