Barcelona is the capital of the Mobile World Congress, an event that draws global attention to telecommunications and the latest advances in portable technology. During those days, the city buzzes with professionals and tech enthusiasts.
Estrella Damm is one of the event's local sponsors, and together with the agency Smäll, they commissioned me to design a large welcome banner to be displayed on both sides of the venue entrance. The design had to represent the brand’s flagship product while tying it to the city of Barcelona.
To achieve this, I created a trencadís-style mosaic, inspired by the work of Antoni Gaudí. This aesthetic approach, very linked with the city, allowed me to overlay icons while forming the base of the beer bottle. It brings to life and becomes tangible through the pieces of the mosaic.
Gaudí’s designs often played with the illusion of flat surfaces striving for three-dimensionality. Giving a magical effect in his work. This concept became the foundation of the piece, blending tradition, innovation, and local identity.
